Our Year 2017

Dear friends, colleagues, customers,

For us, the team behind ImagineCargo, but also for ImagineCargo itself it has been an incredibly intense year with very positive but also very painful aspects we want to share with you.

Earlier this month Nick Blake, our co-founder, mentor and friend passed away. He is leaving behind a gap in our hearts, our company as well as in the cycle logistics community that will be very difficult to fill — if ever possible. You're welcome to read our obituary in this Newsletter.

Let us also see the positive things the year 2017 brought: In September ImagineCargo was granted substantial support of Engagement Migros. We'll hence be able to continue our effort for a sustainable, better logistics!

We want to thank you all for another exciting year in the field of Sustainable Logistics. Thanks for your interest and support!

Nick Blake, an obituary

With great sorrow we have to announce that our co-founder, mentor and friend Nick Blake has passed away. Nick was diagnosed with cancer this summer and unfortunately lost the battle against the disease on December 1st.

Nick is leaving behind a gap in our hearts, our company as well as in the cycle logistics community that will be very difficult to fill — if ever possible. Having started ImagineCargo back in 2014 Nick was the gravitational center and the moral compass of the company, keeping the vision of a more sustainable logistics system always at his heart. He brought the whole team together and his vast experience gained in his 20+ year long career in the transportation sector was a priceless support for everyone involved.

Nick was a bridge builder, a critical thinker, a visionary and above anything a philanthropist. We will always remember him for his gentle being, his unshakable trust in sustainable logistics and the cycle messenger community and his unbreakable commitment to ImagineCargo and bringing positive change to the world.

We hope we can honor his heritage by steering the ship into the right direction without its former captain to build an environmentally responsible and socially fair alternative to the current transportation system.

In loving memory of Nick Blake,

The ImagineCargo Team

In August we were granted the support of Engagement Migros, a development fund of the migros group which enabled us to launched the project "Reshaping City Logistics". We'll therefore be able to bundle our energy to develop software solutions for sustainable logistics operators and push forward alternative ways of doing logistics.
